Poultry Education Program

WVEPAH (World Veterinary Education in Production Animal Health), is a non-profit organization that provides high quality post-graduate programs for poultry professionals, in close collaboration with the University of Montreal, the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH founded as OIE) and the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA).

WVEPAH programs are designed for practicing veterinarians. The programs cover various aspects of poultry diseases and production, as well as poultry welfare, biosecurity and vaccination.

WVEPAH program leads to the “Certificate in Animal Health: Poultry Production“, a diploma delivered by the University of Montreal and validated worldwide by WOAH. Thanks to this validation, graduates obtain de facto recognition as international experts.

WVEPAH offers the following program in English for 2023:

-Module I – Key disciplines in poultry health/Regulation module WOAH (OIE) available Online on a permanent basis, consist of a series of prerecorded conferences and live meetings by the end of the course. This course is an overview of important infectious and non-infectious diseases at different stages of the Broilers, Egg layers, Turkeys and Waterfowl productions process. This course also provides an understanding and application of the regulatory aspects of the WOAH (founded as the OIE). Specialized Module II – Waterfowl (Ducks and Geese) to be held at the National Veterinary School of Toulouse, in Toulouse, France (English) during 10 plain days from 18th to 29th September 2023. This course will provide high-quality postgraduate training for professionals in waterfowl medicine and production. The course covers specifics aspects of waterfowl genetics, production, nutrition, incubation, infectious and non-infectious diseases, diagnostics. The course will also offer an opportunity for the participants to perform post-mortem examinations, to acquire waterfowl specific knowledge about sampling techniques and requirements for diagnostic purposes as well as a full-day field visit.
