Seminar on optimising poultry performance at VIV Africa

The Flanders Poultry Cluster will host an in-person seminar at VIV Africa in Kigali, Rwanda, this October. The seminar will focus on effective health monitoring for optimal poultry performance in the African production environment.

Specialists from Flanders Poultry ClusterVetworks and Ghent University, will delve into the early warning signs in the flock. Speaker Hilde van Meirhaeghe states: “To obtain optimal results in poultry production, it is capital to assess performance and health from day 1 throughout production.” She will present new tools to collect key performance indicators and monitor health status that are available for early detection of potential problems, to identify risk factors and find solutions before great economic losses occur. Van Meirhaeghe: “Farmers are the first to pick up bird signals and need to keep good records, on paper or electronically, to get early warning signs. In health monitoring, innovative techniques are available to improve diagnostics even if a lab is not close by.”

The seminar will take place on Thursday 3 October at the VIV Africa venue in Kigali from 10:30-12:00. Don’t miss out on this valuable and interesting seminar – register now!
