Livestock Famers in Southern Province have called for construction of solar powered boreholes for water to give their animals.

Farmers from Namwala, Monze, and Mazabuka made the call during a one day workshop for Land Restoration and rotational grazing in Monze organized by Soridalidad Network Foundation.

LAWRENCE TAYENGWA a Livestock farmer in Namwala says the drought in 2023/2024 season has resulted in water drastically receding from water sources.

Mr. TAYENGWA said the drought has also affected Pasture for livestock adding that by September cattle will have no grass for grazing.
