Hubbard’s Commitment to Africa: Supporting Poultry Farmers for Better Flock Performance

Hubbard is proud to serve poultry producers in more than 100 countries — and its commitment to Africa is stronger than ever. With tailored support and high-performing breeds, Hubbard helps farmers across the continent improve productivity, manage challenges, and unlock the full potential of their flocks.

Practical, Field-Focused Support for African Producers

Because environmental and management conditions vary so widely, Hubbard’s Customer Support team adopts a hands-on, realistic approach, delivering solutions based on real-world needs. This includes technical advice, on-site visits, and local partnerships — all driven by a deep understanding of the conditions African farmers face.

In Africa, support is coordinated by Baptiste Nevejans (English-speaking countries) and Lamine Youssef (French-speaking countries) — both experienced in guiding poultry operations to success.

Hubbard Breeds Suited for African Conditions

Across the continent, farmers trust the Hubbard Efficiency Plus female breeder, commonly paired with the M77 male. These birds are well-suited to African climates and conditions, offering:

  • Strong adaptability in hot or disease-prone areas

  • Excellent feed efficiency and growth

  • High fertility and hatchability

Hubbard also offers coloured “Premium” breeds such as JA57Ki and REDBRO for traditional or dual-purpose markets.

Tackling On-Farm Challenges: The Biosecurity Message

A recurring issue on many farms is inadequate biosecurity. Poor sanitation and lax hygiene can undo all other efforts. Hubbard strongly advises that every item entering the farm — even a nail or pen — be properly disinfected. Visual reminders and staff training are key to building a strong culture of hygiene.

“Simple actions done consistently can drastically improve results,” says the Hubbard team. “We believe biosecurity must be treated as a top priority.”

From Tunisia to Ghana: Lamine Youssef in the Field

Lamine Youssef, Technical Manager for North, West, and Central Africa, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role. Based in Tunisia, with a degree in Agronomy and Animal Production, Lamine travels regularly to countries including Senegal, Ghana, Algeria, and Côte d’Ivoire to provide hands-on support.

“Even when I’m not traveling, I stay in close contact with farmers via video calls and WhatsApp to provide continued guidance,” he shares.

He also participates in technical seminars, sharing Hubbard’s knowledge on topics like breeder and male management, broiler performance, and best practices in poultry farming.
